(German version below)
I’m in love with being plant-based/vegan. It gives me the feeling of so much love, freedom and joy – also I really do enjoy the food hahaha! But of course I have never forgotten how I have been feeling and how I have been thinking before I have become a vegan. As well as the fact that it has been taking a really long time to get into this new lifestyle (almost 1 year). It’s a huge change in life! And because I remember all these things I absolutely do understand people, who can’t make this change (yet). I understand their worries and insecurities.
Whereas I can’t really understand some vegans, who try to force other people to think the way they do. That’s not to say that all vegans are like that or that I like it when other people eat meat/dairy or that I don’t enjoy talking about veganism at all – that’s definitely not the case! But on the one hand I don’t want to judge anyone who’s not vegan since I have been eating animal products until 2015 as well. On the other hand living plant-based is peaceful and totally personal in my opinion.
To give someone an understanding of something peaceful won’t work if you approach this person with dislike and lack of sympathy (“Go vegan or go home!”). Finally the meaning of veganism is a loving and a considerate way of living ♥! If you want to inspire somebody about that, kindness and love are the keys as well as to show him/her more and more about the wonderful lifestyle from time to time. At the end it’s up to him/her if there’s the wish to make a change and if this wish starts to grow. Everyone is different and some peoples’ wish might start growing really quickly and they change their whole life overnight but that doesn’t make them better humans at all! We will never be able to be 100% the way other people expect us to be since we all have different opinions and that’s fine. The most important thing is that each of us gives one’s best, accepts other ones ways of thinking and lives consciously – even if he/she is not able to live fully vegan/vegetarian (yet) :)
If you wish to see a change, be the change!
Much Love,

Hi Louisa! reading this is so inspiring. Actually i have been a vegetarian for 7 years never thought about going vegan but its nice to hear your thoughts. Theres a lot of judgment about vegans and vegetarians and at least i have heard some comments cuz we are always a problem when food comes. thats why i created this blog for sharing what inspire me and my vegstory. As you say we can not rich the expectations of others but i love to be vegetarian and im proud of it and i really don’t care about critics its the way i live my life. Thanks for sharing!

I definitely agree with you! Trying to force opinions on someone won’t go very far at all. Instead maybe just raising awareness of potential issues such as the environmental and ethical issues of animal agriculture. This is what our blog does and we think you would like it! Check us out misteaken.wordpress.com :)

I’m with you onj this.. The “Go Vegan or Go Home” thing doesn’t benefit the comunity at all! It just makes us look like extremists and makes people want to get away froom veganism!

Absolutely! Sadly a lot of people do think that all vegans are a little aggressive just because they met an extreme vegan in the past. Which is the total opposite of reality. I love the community!
